This Month's Guest Speakers:
Mike Mead (DigitMe - UCLAN) – Mike will be joining us from The University of Central Lancashire’s DigitME program, which offers 30 hours free expert consultancy and project work to manufacturers in the North West. Mike will be covering Robotics, Vision Systems, 3D Printing, Data Acquisition and Management, Energy Monitoring and will show case studies of projects and examples of work done across the North West. He may even treat us to a robot demonstration!
World Café:
To celebrate our 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY we will be doing something a bit different. We will be using a method known as the World Café to explore the concerns and aspirations of the group members and decide how the Manufacturers Group should evolve of the coming months/years. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and explore synergies within the group. We may even have a bit of cake with our Pie & Peas!
The Manufacturers Group Meeting Format:
· We don’t follow the format of other networking groups with a 1 minute pitch or pressure people for referrals.
· We drink tea & coffee and eat good old Pie & Peas while chatting informally.
· We are very friendly and open about improvements we have implemented; funding we have utilized, new technologies, useful suppliers and other benefits, such as, referrals to new clients that will help other attendees increase their bottom line and grow their businesses.
· We make a difference by supporting local charities.
· We are currently a combination of 50 local manufacturing businesses, which is growing rapidly month on month.
There is a £15 entry fee which is donated to a local charity each month. This month we have one of our regular attendees Adrienne Tonge from Synectic talking to us about her own charity Bolton Street Angels. The Street Angels give up their evenings to ensure people can have a safe night out around Bolton.
If you would like to come along to the Manufacturers Group please contact us to arrange a guest pass. Remember you need to be a manufacturer to attend and we do not allow people to turn up on the night without prior arrangement.
