Monday 29th September 2014 5:30 - 7:30pm
Location: Indespension, Paragon Business Park, Chorley NewRoad, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6HG
This Month's Guest Speakers:
Julie Watkinson - Greenlight Skills
Julie is an experienced management trainer and lecturer and has delivered bespoke programmes, as well as accredited training for the Institute of Leadership and Management. She has extensive experience at board level and was the co-founder and director of Pro-action People, a niche recruitment and training organisation, supplying staff to major organisations across Europe. Her specialist field of expertise is in the design and delivery of leading edge management and employability skills training for young people. She is also a qualified life coach.
Julie will be providing the group with advise and useful tips on how to get the best from your young apprentices. She will begin with a brief introduction to Greenlight Skill's before further explaining ways to understand how this generation has been formed, how to adapt your leadership skills to get the best from your young employees and practical tips on how to ensure they contribute positively and productively from the start.
Neil Singleton, Sales and Marketing Manager - Indespension Ltd.
A brief History of Time. For those of you that have been attending the meetings over the past couple of years you will be very familiar with Neil. He always provides a warm welcome and makes time for everyone that attends. He has been an employee and ambassador for Indespension for over 18 years (man and boy) and would like to take the stage to share his journey.
Neil would like to share his story on how he believes Indespension (one of the UK’s largest trailer manufacturer’s) have stood the test of time (Est. 1968) and some of the difficulties they have faced along the way. Most importantly he will be sharing some of the things they have done over the years that have worked well for them and what he has learned along the way.
The Manufacturers Group Meeting Format:
· We don’t follow the format of other networking groups with a 1 minute pitch or pressure people for referrals.
· We drink tea & coffee and eat good old Pie & Peas while chatting informally.
· We are very friendly and open about improvements we have implemented; funding we have utilized, new technologies, useful suppliers and other benefits, such as, referrals to new clients that will help other attendees increase their bottom line and grow their businesses.
· We make a difference by supporting local charities.
· We are currently a combination of 50 local manufacturing businesses, which is growing rapidly month on month.
There is a £15 entry fee which is donated to a local charity each month. This month we will be welcoming Paws for Kids, a charity that is designed to support women, children and their pets escape from a life of violence and abuse to a better and caring future.
If you would like to come along to the Manufacturers Group please contact us to arrange a guest pass. Remember you need to be a manufacturer to attend and we do not allow people to turn up on the night without prior arrangement.
