Manufacturers Group Meeting
Building the Bridges Between Education & Local Industry
Tuesday 8th September 2015 5:30 - 7:30pm
Location: The University of Bolton (Neville-Rolfe Boardroom, Senate House), Deane Road, BL3 5AB
As you will probably be aware we held our last meeting, Innovate 2015, at the University of Bolton. We wanted to support the University in showcasing the fantastic facility we have available, not only for learners who are looking for higher education, but also what they have to offer to local manufacturers. This has sparked the next stage to the development of the local partnerships between the University and local industry. What can you do for me?
Our next meeting will answer the 'What can you do for me?' question. Local mechanical and electrical engineering companies have the opportunity to see the good work the University have done already with other manufacturers and whether the working relationship will work for them.
Paul Clavell, University of Bolton During September & October 2015 the University will be looking for projects and placements for their students (2nd & 3rd year degree students) in local manufacturing businesses. We hope that you would consider this for your own business. If this is something you would like to know more about or have other ideas on working with the University please come along to the meeting for an informal round table discussion.
The Manufacturers Group Meeting Format:
· We don’t follow the format of other networking groups with a 1 minute pitch or pressure people for referrals.
· We drink tea & coffee and eat good old Pie & Peas while chatting informally.
· We are very friendly and open about improvements we have implemented; funding we have utilized, new technologies, useful suppliers and other benefits, such as, referrals to new clients that will help other attendees increase their bottom line and grow their businesses.
· We make a difference by supporting local charities.
· We are currently a combination of 50 local manufacturing businesses, which is growing rapidly month on month.
There is a £15 entry fee which is donated to a local charity each month. This month will be confirmed soon.
If you would like to come along to the Manufacturers Group please contact us to arrange a guest pass. Remember you need to be a manufacturer to attend and we do not allow people to turn up on the night without prior arrangement.
